Apparitions
A vague mist hanging 'round half the pages:
(Sometimes how strange and clear to the soul,
That all these solid things are indeed but apparitions, concepts,
non-realities.) .......Whitman
Things that we consider reality often reside only in our thoughts and have no basis for truth. Concepts like democracy and freedom are shadowy, and relative to particular cultures. The idea of monogamy disappears in a puff of smoke, when the reality of relationships is carefully scrutinized. What is real and solid is an appartion and an allusive concept that must constantly be questioned, under the lamp of wisdom. Blind acceptance, leads to division, predjudice and stereotyping. The Golden Rule remains golden!
