My Soldier-Son

Chatted with Paul in Iraq on MS messenger this a.m. He just got off of patrol and told me that they setup some random checkpoints to search for RPGs and contraband. He said it's dangerous work but they can usually tell by the nervous mannerisms displayed by those that are up to mischief, so that the tanks and gun mounted vehicles can respond and kill them if necessary. Suicide bombers are a constant threat. Most of them are foreigners like al-queida terrorists and other terrorist organizations. Iraqis are aren't radical and suicidal like the Islamic extremists. Paul couldn't reveal over the net the exact date that he leaves Iraq. Security is getting tighter as the 4th ID prepares for replacement troops. The transition period is dangerous, as troops are more vulnerable to a terrorist attack while in transient. "Loose lips sink ships" as the old navy saying goes.
