Longing For My River
June 1st always stirs my blood and makes me restless for some summer fishing. The bright chrome Spring Chinook Salmon enter the mouth of Oregon's Rogue River in peak numbers and await my fishing line. I pine for early morning coffee in the drift boat while waiting for first light and whispering to Jeff (my friend and fishing guide)so as not to disturb the resting fish. I long to hear the massive owl scold the beaver who slaps it's tail on the bank, disturbing the great horned creatures nocturnal reverie. Mostly I love the companionship of fishing with my sons and the shared excitement of catching these giant "Springers". The picture below is me with a couple of these great fish.
